Making fields mandatory in maintenance plan

Hey Gurus,

I am trying to make certain fields in the maintenance plan( floc, description etc) as mandatory. But in spro - define fields for maintenance plan i am getting only the option for making the fields invisible and not mandatory. How to make these fields mandatory in the maintenance plan?

Transaction variants is one way (TCode SHDO).

Alternatively you can ustilise user-exit IPRM0004 (Maintenance plan / item: Customer check for time "SAVE")

Anand,

The description is already mandatory field in the MP along with some other fields.I don't think there is a transaction to maintain field attributes for the maintenance plan.You may have to use transaction SHD0 To create a standard variant for this transaction.You can define the mandatory fields and also pre-populate default values if necessary.
