Hi All
I have MTO scenario
Sales order line item has delivery date 11.12.09
I have setting which causes basic dates to be overwritten by production dates.
I have not maintained any inhouse production time.
When i do MRP with lead time scheduling then i get following dates in planned order.
Order finish -11/12/09
Order start -- 30/11/09
In master data section there is bom explosion date - 26/ 11/2009
Please tell me from where this date is coming ?
I have settings which explodes bom which are vallid of start date of planned order
Check the scheduling margin key for the material....

Check the Note 412736 which explains the logic behind explosion date calculation...
One of the possibilities is that during basic dates scheduling , BoM explosion date is the same as start, but once lead time scheduling is carried out, the initial order date is modified but the explosion date remains unchanged and you noticed the large gap between both dates
Mayuresh,
I have so far not come across a scenario where the BOM explosion requirement was based on the Finish date of the Planned Order. Generally used is BOM explosion based on Planned order start date or BOM Explosion number.
Business scenario which I can think of for BOM explosion based on finish date is that, when the order procesing time is huge due to number of operations or due to Individual duration required for completion of the operations.

Hello,
it is hard to detect the nature of the "inconsistency" you mention without accessing your system, but check the conditions youhave using the Note explanation.
Check that there can be differences in new, modified or new explosion in MRP. So it would be advisable to delete all existing planned orders, run the MRP creating new ones and check out which are the dates in these orders (with basic dates or lead time scheduling)
Additionally you can select the criteria for BoM explosion using OMIW in customizing
Regards
