Hi everybody,
i am planning to install an IDES 6.0 System on Linux with Oracle. Could you please explain me why it is necessary to create the below files?
Is this necessary or is it only recommend?
Can i install oracle without to create the files?
And if i create the files by my own, should i do it before the SAP-Installation or after the oracle Installation during the SAP-Installation?
How know the system during the installation, that this files have been created?
/sapmnt/<SID>
/usr/sap
/usr/sap/<SID>
/usr/sap/trans
/oracle
/oracle/client
/oracle/<SID>
/oracle/<SID>/102_64
/oracle/<SID>/origlogA
/oracle/<SID>/origlogB
/oracle/<SID>/mirrlogA
/oracle/<SID>/mirrlogB
/oracle/<SID>/oraarch
/oracle/<SID>/sapreorg
/oracle/<SID>/sapdata1

/oracle/<SID>/sapdata5

Sid
I believe you have to create these directories on *nix but these gets created automatically on windows. You may want to refer to instalaltion guides at [service.sap.com/instguides]
