install.sh is stuck on boe_cmsd

I am doing my first BOE XI 3.1 installation.

I entered my values in the install.sh wizard. To keep it simple I stayed with the defaults mySQL and Tomcat. The installation process starts, but hangs now for several hours in the phase "Initializing the CMS".

The command that seems to run forever is:

/usr/sap/BOD/bobje/enterprise120/linux_x86//boe_cmsd -name cibod.cms -loggingPath /usr/sap/BOD/bobje/logging/ -pidFile /usr/sap/BOD/bobje/serverpids/bodadm_cms.pid -dbinfo /usr/sap/BOD/bobje/enterprise120/linux_x86/_boe_cibod.dbinfo -connect DSN=BOD120;UID=bodadm;PWD=<XXXXX>;HOSTNAME=127.0.0.1;PORT=3306 -dbdriver mysqldatabasesubsystem -fg -reinitializedb -defaultlocale en -quit

I figured out that:

1. mySQL is started

2. There is nothing interesting logged in /usr/sap/BOD/bobje/mysql/mysql.log:

3. there is no other process listening on 3306 before mySQL was started

4. /var/log/messages shows the following line:

Nov 27 14:24:23 fxs777 boe_cmsd[26623]: Central Management Server started

5. /usr/sap/BOD/bobje/logging/ contains 2 files:

regsvr_25866_2009_11_27_13_20_48_870_trace.log

setupConfiguration.Log(2009-10-27 13-20).xml

The first one reports errors like this a few minutes before the hang occurs:

src/satlrgs.cpp:449: TraceLog message 10
2009/11/27 13:20:48.885|>>|A| |25866|4144572080| |||||||||||||||assert failure: (src/satlrgs.cpp:449). (false : Cannot register control. CLSID or module na
me is empty).

I don't know what that means.

6. searched notes database and SDN, but did not find anything similar (I did find problems with AIX and RH, but not with Suse)

We are on Suse Linux 10, with x86_64 processor. I don't know what else to look for.

BOE XI 3.1 is supported on x86_64 isn't it?

Any idea's are very much appreciated.
