New Administration Landscape in PI 7.1

Anyone know how to create a New Administration Landscape in NWA in PI 7.1? Can someone provide step by step? I need this for configuration of NWA for Java System. I don't have any Landscape defined for use as it is a new system.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Please follow below tasks to accomplish your requirement

1. Logon your NWA of PI 7.1

2. Choose Configuration Management->Scenarios

3. Click on Configuration Wizard

4. Choose 'All Configuration Tasks' under Configuration Tasks drop down menu

5. Select Display-Change-Create Administration Landscape in NWA SLD

6. Click on 'Start'

7. This Wizard will guide you through the procedure of building new Administration Landscape.

Ofcourse The central system is added into the admin landscape by default.

I hope this helps you.

Hello,

There is no such thing as 'Select Display-Change-Create Administration Landscape' in NWA SLD when you select 'All Configuration Tasks'. If I just execute All Configuration Tasks, I get error: Message [SourceGLOBAL] does not have expected type [sap.com/tclmconfig~a1s: content/a1s/GLOBALMsg.xsd]

options: Retry Step, Skip Step or Cancel Process.

I could not go further than step 1.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

I uses PI 7.1 and I did cross verified in our PI 7.1 NWA, it's very much available

Please ensure you are logon to your PI NWA with appropriate credentials (perhaps using J2EE_ADMIN or equaliant).

If you are login with all authorizations that's required to use this wizard then there should be 28 tasks under this ' Select Display-Change-Create Administration Landscape' in NWA SLD'.

Hello Sekar,

I tried with J2ee_admin and checked again, the only options below Show: All Configuration Tasks are Start, Resume and Re-execute. Under Details section below, I do see Process Descriptions but nothing as Select Display-Change-Create Administration Landscape in NWA SLD. What is this error message I get when I start A1S Source System parameter Creation:

error message

Error: Message [SourceGLOBAL] does not have expected type [sap.com/tclmconfig~a1s : content/a1s/GLOBALMsg.xsd]

Please note that Netweaver Initial setup was completed successfully.

Thanks a lot.

Hi John,

I am sorry, i do not know where the gap here but you should see a set of 28 task names at immediate those 'start', 'resume', 're-execute' buttons.

Unfortunately there is no provision here for me to post you with some screeshot but it's there.

Hi Sekhar,

The confusion was betweeen 'Select Display-Change-Create Administration Landscape' in NWA SLD' and 'resume', 're-execute' buttons.

Ok, now that we both see the same thing, as I mentioned before, if I start the 'All Configuraiton Tasks', I get error on first step for SourceGLOBAL message definition. Please suggest if you can, on how to get pass this error.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

I'm not sure what exactly you are doing but whatever sekhar said makes complete sense.

Once you get the list of configuration tasks just filter (search) for 'Display-Change-Create Administration' and you should only see that configuration task. Then select it. Click on 'Start' button. If this button is not enabled then click on 'Reexecute' button. Then the wizard will guide you through the rest of the process.

Hello Sekhar and Raghu,

Got it. I was simply trying to execute All tasks. I understand that it doesn't work that way so I'll have to do specific tasks such as this one. I guess there is no standard or naming convention for 'New Administrative Landscape' to define central admin landscape.

Thanks guys for your help,

John.

Hi

I am glad our instructions had helped you. And if you see back my initial response that talk the same

5. Select Display-Change-Create Administration Landscape in NWA SLD
6. Click on 'Start'

If you think it had helped you ...you may recognize the same in SDN way of doing.

Regards

Sekhar
