Text is not shown in window

Dear all!

I defined a simple test smartform to display just one word. The font is defined as a HELVE with height of 80 points, no space before, no space behind, one line spacing.

In smartform the main window is as uge as the page. In the main window there's one text node defined with a string "TEST". As the print preview now is shown only the lowest few milliimeters of the word "TEST" are shown on the page, the rest is missing.

It's like this string: TEST and everything above the line is not displayed.....

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Klaus

Hi

Check whether you have assigned the SMARTSTYLE to it with proper paragraph format and character format and test.

Dear members,

the problem is solved.

@Gustavo: "Test" was just a string and not a variable. The string was displayed outside the frame of the window-node which was containing the text-node.

@ suryareddy: As you see in the solution below your answer goes to the correct direction... Smartstyle!

@ A Makan: It didn't matter. Cause even if I placed the window in the middle of the page and made the size double of the letters the same happened. The letters have been shown completly but not inside the frame of the window node

It looked like this:

____ TEST ___

I__________I

So coming to the solution:

In smartstyle you have to define the "lines per inch". This value was set as default to "6". As I decreased this setting to "3" all strings and fields in the text-nodes have been displayed with the correct line feed inside the frames of the related window node.

Thanks for all the hints!

Best regards,

Klaus

Hi.

I think the font you are using is very large so the text is not fitting exactly into the window. You either increase the size of the window or decrease the font in smartstyle.

Did you write TEST or did you use a string that contained TEST inside? If you did the later, then you should use the button to add variables and encase it inside &name of the variable&
