HI,

CATS is cross Application Time Sheet, having a common database table CATSDB,

when we enter time in CATS via CAT2 the data is Stored in CATS DB table

CAT6 Transaction will transfer data to HR system to Time infotypes, 2001, 2002, 2010

CAT7 transaction will data to Controlling

CAT5 will transfer the data to PS

there is no direct updating of data in target components so we need to run these transactions.

Hi ,

These Tcodes are given for completing the process of capturing the time/effort done by employee on variuos work/orders(PM / Sales etc). then these gets approved by supervisor or competent authority and then this data can be automatically posted to variuos modules like... PS/PM/Accounting/HR etc.......

time sheets can be used in scenarios where organisation has agents/service guys EX : in eletronics/electrical oraganisation after supplying the product service agents have to go to repair/service them as and when basis...... against a contarct/service order......

there are many other scenarios....

hope gives you insight of cats.......

If you are using CATS then only these T.code will be used. Other wise you can skip CATS module in Time management. If at all time sheet booking is in the scope you have to implement CATS.

CAT2: Book Timesheet

CAT5: Transfer time data to Project systems

CAT7: Transfer time data to Controlling.

CAT5 & CAT7 wont't impact any our HR process.

Let me know if you need any further clarifications
