Strange voting / like indications appearing

In this thread I have attempted to 'Like' comments, and the word Like changes to Unlike, but the adjacent number does not increment and instead stays stuck on zero. When clicking it again eventually a number 0/1 shows up beneath the avatar like shown here:

Apologies to those of you watching the thread - as shown in the snippet below from my personal activities feed (I am following this thread so it will probably be hogging up your feed as well), there are multiple occurrences of me 'liking' the comment, because I was liking and unliking it to test out the bug.

**Similar confusions exist with my attempt to press the 'Like 14' box in the original post, in an attempt to change it to 'Liked 15', but I get an error dialog that says: "You already voted this post." This in and of itself is misleading because I didn't "vote" on it like an Answer, and I won't begin to guess on the wording in the associated Activities feed entries that will appear. BTW - I have tested with both IE11 and Chrome and the issues are the same.

This has never worked for me in any browser, which I use - IE11, Firefox ESR, Pale Moon, Google Chrome.

You need to reload the page to see the liked counter incremented on comments.

As for liking a whole discussion - I use view source or disable a few CSS to see if I have already liked the discussion or not. When you do this, you get the list of people, who liked the discussion and you can check if your name is there. I think, it is possible to build this like/liked button description change on discussion header level by yourself with Greasemonkey.

I believe it's a bug or should be considered a bug.

Say what you want about Jive but at least "Like" behaved consistently all across the SCN. If I already clicked "Like" and can no longer click it then wtf am I shown this button? Disable it or change to "unlike". Don't make me click it just to show a "nya nya nya nya nya" message. And if there is a counter then it should increase/decrease accordingly. This is UI design / development 101. But I guess someone skipped a class.

This has come to our attention previously, I'm pretty sure, so it's probably in the pipeline to be fixed. But I'll try to find out.

Hi Audrey - I just tested this out again, and at the bottom of the testing thread (link in my original question) I was able to 'Like' Jelena's post, but when liking/unliking the posts by Chris and Jelena it again gave me the floating number under their avatar. Apparently this is still an issue, even if it is somewhat cosmetic.
