Calling a portal URL from workflow

Hi experts,

I need to call a portal URL from workflow task, the initial part of the URL contains host and port details, can ay one suggest me from where can i find this info dynamically in my program?

or is there any other configuration required? I came accross transactions like WF_SRV_TRANSCTION. I am not sure about right way to use these.

From whatever i found on internet i thought we can build standard tasks to call services. I am not sure if i can add my portal link to such services and call it from a standard task. Please help me if anyone knows about such thing.

Otherwise please let me know if i can find URL of Portal into ECC from somewhere dynamically.
