Internal orders - Budgeting and availability control

Hi,

We are setting up budgeting and aviability control for internal orders. We have configured tolerance limits, and are attempting to post an amount lower that the amount still available, and are expecting a warning message. However, we are getting message BP614 as an error message:

Item 001 Order 20000001 budget almost exhausted

Message no. BP614

Diagnosis

The assigned funds are 5,000.00 ZAR less than the budget for fiscal year 2010 in document item 001 Order 20000001.

I cannot find message control that allows us to change this message to a warning. ANy bright ideas ar emost welcome.

Thanks & regards,

Tony

Try changing message status in OBA5.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for the response, I have tried that, and it won't let me modify the message.

I have since found out that it is changing the message to warning and no message at the breaks set in our tolerances. But I can't see why it is making it an error message for the top tolerance when it is still less than the total budget value.

Tony

Go to path:

SPRO --> Controlling --> Internal Orders --> Budgeting & availability control --> Define tolerance limits for availability control.

There you need to specify percentage & type of message.

If you do not know the budget profile you are using,

1st check the order type using which your internal order is created.

Then go to SPRO --> Controlling --> Internal Order --> Order Master Data --> Define order types.

In that you will get budget profile your order type is using.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for your input. We resolved the problem by maintaining a budget manager for the order type.
