Hi Rachit ,

SAP provides couple of standard adapters with PI/XI, unfortunately for EDI purpose SAP doesnu2019t provide any standard adapter with PI/XI . We can avoid using third party adapter . but in that case project will go for another 7-8 months and the solution will not be scalable at all . Plus we would be needing the people who have expertise in that particular area . and definitely that is going to over shoot the project budget .

as said above, you can use conversion agent or custome built java module to convert IDOC XML to EDI ,

after that you have to decide , weather to use VAN or FTP or any other protocol...

Use conversion agent that is one option to convert the straucture ,What is your target EDI message Strcuture??where you want to post this message in Target side??

to convert the IDoc structure to EDI using JAVA Mapping also we can achive...

search in sdn you will find come usefull info.

Using conversion Agent there is no coding, If you have a conversion agent insatlled in your landscape you will have better understanding..

Also java code for IDoc to EDI have some problems:

1. The EDI format differs based on requirement so there will always be a customized code for it.. Like we have IDco to EDIFACT and ANSX12...

2. Because most of these codes are propriety materials I doubt whether anyone be sharing the complete code here in SDN. Better to have a java consultant at your end and put him with your requirement.. From the reply in above threads you should be clear that what you are looking for can be done from java coding..

First you should understand the purpose of software :

Conversion Agent : Helps in data transformations . We are not doing mapping here . We will be converting the data format .and we will be using communication channels with adapters that used the conversion agent process module .

Java mapping is totaaly a differen tconcept of mapping source file as target fields .
