Incorrect call to external link

Hello experts,

Business is requiring and external link in a development, so users will click on it and it should take them to a web page in their intranet site. Even when our developer is assigning the correct link, SRM is changing the URL.

example:

The URL we want to access http://www.mycompany.com/sites/intranet.htm

but when we click on it, the system send us to: http:// /sites/ intranet.htm

Complete error says:

Service cannot be reached

What has happened?

URL http:// /sites/ intranet.htm call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.

Please advice on how to solve this issue. Thanks!
