Question on PI 7.1 ( EP1 ) compatibility

Hi

We are looking to upgrade to PI 7.1 from our current XI 3.0 ( SP23 ) platform. Our R3 version is ECC 5.0 ( NW2004 ).

My basic question is : Will PI 7.1 ( EP1 ) work with ECC 5.0 ? If yes, please forward the relevant SAP supporting documentation that indicates this .

PI 7.1 works fine with R3 4.6, 4.7 and ECC 5.0. Don't have an official document with me right now to support this, but I guess you can search on SDN / SAP Help or might open a quick OSS message with SAP to get official confirmation.

ECC 5.0 should not cause a problem.....just found a similar thread where the person upgraded from 3.0 to 7.1 (backend is ECC5.0) and faced a problem (it was solved without any upgrade of the ECC).....so just have a look at it....may be that will help you:
