SAP PI 7.1 Upgrade startup.bat (restart upgrade) just shows a blank window

I am trying to restart a PI 7.0 to PI 7.1 upgrade by running: C:\usr\sap\<SID>\upg\startup.bat but it just gives a blank screen, no messages and does not generate any error logs.

Please can you tell me what might be causing this?

Have a look inside the bat file to see what it's doing....May help your analysis.

Hi Mark,

I have done that, but it hasn't helped.

It looks like C:\usr\sap\SID\upg\startup.bat runs C:\usr\sap\SID\upg\startup.js which in turn runs the C:\usr\sap\SID\upg\sdt\exe\DSUService.bat . All these files exist so it is not clear what is not working.
