TMS Configuration

Dears,

We are going to configure TMS in our PI 7.1 server.

Now as I know we have two strategies for it.

1-File export import

2-By STMS

So I want to positive and negative points of each method.

Please suggest

Hi Shivam,

1. File Export and Import Method: This is simple transport strategy, There is no change recording.

2. By STMS (CTS) : You need to implement CTS for PI transports. This has change recording.

Dear Raghu,

So it means

Export,Import method is easy to implement while STMS is difficult to implement.

But after implementation what are the positive and negative points of these methods.

Please suggest.

Hi Shivam,

There are no implementation steps for file transports (Export and Import).

The advantages of implementing STMS (CTS+) are

1. Change Recording.

2. No need to manually transfer the files from one system to another

3. Recommended by SAP.

These three advantages are not covered with file transports.
