Please post a screen shot of the error in the browser's Console tab and also check what is the return code for the metadata service call in the Network tab. Also, ensure that your user has the necessary service authorizations on the front-end and back-end systems.

Firstly we need to check the error in the console. Please paste the same here for others to analyse.

It might most probably due to the reason that OData service is not activated .
