How to Delete requests from ADSO?

Hi,

I am having a ADSO with Cube like setting(i.e. all char are key) and it has 3 sources, in which 2 are delta loads and 1 is Full loads.

Requirement is to delete the old/previous day request for the daily Full load.

In 7.4 Info Cube we were using Delete Overlap Requests in process chain to delete the previous request for the full load on the Info Cube.

After moving to 7.5 ADSO, Delete Overlap Requests is not working as expected because after Activating the Requests all the requests are getting compressed and set to 0 so its not able to delete the previous requests.

Now all the values are getting added up and showing wrong values in the reports.

Please provide your suggestions.

Activation in cube works like compression. Once it is activated you wont allow to delete it directly. You can do either selective deletion or delete content. Its better not to activate request for cube type ADSO.

As I know if you want to delete overlap requests from ADSO (like InfoCube) you don't need activate requests. The request activation for this ADSO acts like the compression in case of an InfoCube. See this example: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BI/ADSO+InfoCube

Hi Eugeniy LANCEV,

Thanks for the reply, yes you are right, I can skip the activation step and then "delete overlapping requests" would work.

But we are having around 14,563,788 records and the count will be increasing. Is it fine to run reports without doing a compression forever? Do we have any other option?

Another way - to use selective deletion from advanced DSO.
