Collective shipment

Hi,

I am going through prototype implementation for LE module. Just trying to do one collective shipment where I faced some problem.

here is the scenario. My company is in Germany(DE) and I am delivering to shipto where located in Plymouth(GB). here i Have to get through 3 modes of transportation that is truck , ship and again truck. here when I configure legs , the system automatically took it as direct leg and picking it direct leg from Dresden(DE) to Plymouth(GB) only one mode as Truck. Can you please tell me what settings I have to make in addition to this. I need three modes should appear on shipment document.

and also in this scenario , I have maintained one forwarding agent to full shipment(for 3 modes). in this scenario if I maintained 3 agents for 3 modes of transports , how to get shipment costs documents for each forwarding agent. I am new to LE , I have some confusions while going through documentation , that is the reason I am seeking your valuable help.

Hi

Use Transaction OVTC to maintain Routes. When you double click on the Route to be maintained you will come to screen which will allow you to maintain the Pre Leg, Shipping Type and the Sub leg. You can maintain the desired legs there so as to solve your first problem.

For the shipment cost document issue you can refer to the SAP Library.

In addition to my earlier reply.....I would like to add one more thing for your query...

1) Go to 0VTC transaction maintain Main Route with Main Forwarding Agent.

2) Define transportation Conncting Points (TCPs).

3) Define 3 Route Stages for that Route (Truck, Ship, and Truck).

4) Maintain 3 different Sub Forwarding Agents at stage level (but The same is true if you create stages manually, adopt stages from the route, or execute leg determination)

Once you use or determine Route in Shipment Header, Stages and its respective forwarding Agent will be copied into your shipment. Based on your configuration, Shipment Cost will be calculated.

In your case shipment cost needs to be calculated at stage level, then only cost will be calculated based on different mode of transporation and forwarding agent.

I could not understand your exact requirement. You are talking about collective shipment and 3 modes of transportation. these 2 are different activities in transportation perspective. please clarify on this.

if i take your scenario......3 modes of transportation........

It can be possible by having 3 kind of shipments.

1) Preliminary Leg.

2) Main Leg

3) Subsequent Leg.

1) Preliminary Leg takes care of the shipment till your departure Port from your Shipping Point.

2) Main Leg takes care of shipment on the See (i.e. Departure Port to Destination Port)

3) Subsequent Leg takes care of shipment from Destination port to Ship to Location.

While defining your shipment types, you have the option whether you want to configure for Prelim, Main or Subsequent.....

I think i answered your question. please let me know if you have still any doubts.

Define only 2 stages... 1) From shipping point to ship to party, 2) Main leg from DE port to GB port.

Now first create the shipment documnet for the main leg and then when you create the preliminary /subsequent shipment documnet and in leg determination system automatically proposes the ports
