2007 installation

Dear sirs,

I am very new to the B1 and I would really appreciateyour advise on a (probably) very easy task. I am installing 2007 B1 and there is some "wizard" to "help" me, but it only calls all the installation programs. When I run this wizard, it asks me to install MS SQL 2005 separately (and next point to this installation) or to point on the setup.exe for the installer. This is a little weird but I can understand this:))

My problem is that if I install the MS SQL, in the installer I need to set the access to the SQL. I am asked to write down the user and password and choose SQL server. I have no idea which user I should use, because when installing SQL I am only asked to provide a password. When asked for a SQL server I don´t know what to do because the dialog says "(local)".

Can you please help me with the user name for the installation and how (which name) should I access he server from the B1 installer? Thanks in advance for any help, Otto

Hi Otto.

The user created for SQL Server is sa. Then you have to use this user and the password you set when installing SQL Server (in the default instance, I hope).

As Gordon said, you should refer to the Adminitration Guide - SQL documentation.

Regards.

I am sorry for a weird post, I misread the guide and not install the SQL server but only some management tools so I had no server to connect to. Thank you anyway, Otto

Dear Otto,

Have you read through Administrator Guide before actual installation process? I do think you could find answers to your questions from the document.

Thanks,

Gordon
