Updating timesheet from PM order

Hi all,

I want to know whether it is possible to update the timesheet from the data given in the PM order. Is it possible to do this automatically.

If yes then could you please explain the procedure to be followed, since I am new to PM and have not had much experience in the module.

Thanks

Hi

The engineer has been given the necessary access to enter the time spent on the various processes under the Operations tab, in the particular order.

There is no field available in the standard operation to capture Actual time spent by the engineer.Could you specify the field name or where the Engineer is entering this in the operation tab?

Hi All

The client has a pressing requirement to get this done.

For clarification I shall restate my problem:

When the engineer enters the time spent by him in the order, this particular time data should automatically get updated in the engineer's time sheet.

Now as far as multiple tasks are concerned, the engineer will enter the time for each of the tasks individually, hence preventing overlap.

Could you please suggest as to what can be done in this case.

Is there any particular user exit or any other configuration which needs to be done in order to enable this kind of a procedure?

Please help, since the client has been asking for it.

Thanks

Hi Berlina,

As stated before. When you use the functionality CATS (Cross Application TimeSheet) your customer is able to confirm time in the timesheet and these confirmations can automatically being forward to the PM order.

With this way of working your customer gets an overview of all confirmations entered by an user and all the confirmations at orderlevel.

Kind Regards,

Johan

Berlina,

Assuming you mean confirmation data and not timesheet data.. If so, then in the standard system you cannot create/change confirmations (IW41/2) from within an order (IW32).

Please give more details..

Berlina,

What information of the time sheet are you looking to update?

Hi Narsimhan,

I want to update the the no. of hours worked on a particular maintenance order by a particular employee. Actually the employee should update their time data only once and that too only in the PM order, against their tasks and this should automatically get updated in the employee's timesheet.

Actually I do not want the employee to update time data twice. Also is there some transaction which will enable this kind of action.

Thanks

Berlina,

Looks like you are looking to update actual work performed by the employee for the operation on the order. Firstly, you don't have a field to enter that value in the order. There is one quantity field that's available on the User defined fields, but if worked hours are captured more than once for the operation, then that option is also ruled out. Even if you figure some fields to update this, then you would have to call the confirmation transaction to update the value to standard tables.

It might be much simpler to have the user use the standard confirmation transaction like IW41 or use the CATS application to post the same.

Hi Berlina,

I suggest the user will confirm time using CATS (trx. CAT2). With this transaction they will update both their timesheet and the PM order at the same time.

Johan
