Error in SAP BW IDES installation

Hi,

while installing SAP BW IDES, I got stuck on a step where i had to enter DDIC password. The master password was not accepted as DDIC password. So i tried to login to this BW system using SAP, with the intention of changing the password of DDIC user. I entered the master password given during NW installation as the SAP password, but that did not work. I tried the same password several times, which resulted in locking of SAP* user.

Now when i try to login i get an error saying "Pasword logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts"

How can I login to this new installation now? Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

In order to again activate SAP* then follow below procedure:

1. Set the profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0 from RZ10 (If you canu2019t logon, you can edit your Instance Profile directly from the OS level, folder /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile, )

2. Restart Application Server.

3. Logon to your SQL command (eq: SQL PLUS for Oracle) and connect as SYSDBA.

4. Run: SELECT * FROM [Schema].USR02 WHERE BNAME=u2019SAP*u2019 AND MANDT=u2019<client>u2019

Example: SELECT * FROM PRD.USR02 WHERE BNAME=u2019SAP*u2019 AND MANDT=u2019000'

5. If exist, then run:

DELETE FROM <scehma>.USR02 WHERE BNAME=u2019SAP*u2019 AND MANDT=u2019<client>'

Make sure the user deleted by re-run step 4.

6. Logon to that Client with user SAP* and password: PASS

Then you can change password of DDIC as well.

Thanks

Sunny

Hi,

I am not able to find the parameter you mentioned in the profile file.

You can add parameter manually and start SAP. It is good practice to take backup of profile files before modifying.
