Webi lock (wid.lck) problem with Rich Client XI3.1

Hi,

I am unable to open a webi report because a lock file (wid.lck) is generated in the directory where the report is saved (I am using Webi Rich Client) when I attempt to open the report. The problem started recently but BOE admin assures me that nothing has changed in my or application security settings. Does anyone know what's causing creation of the the lock and how to prevent it?

I am on XI3.1.
