HI Expert,

I'm consider new to SAP on MAXDB. This morning when I checked on directory found that our /sapdb/SID/saplog and /sapdb/SID/m_saplog are 98% used. I don't know what to check and how to solve this issue.

Anyone here can help me how to check what makes these directory grow and how to make it used below 90%. I'm afraid that if these directory up to 100% used it will bring the problem.

Please help.

Thanks

What issue?

What makes you think that the log volumes can possibly grow in size?

That's not possible at all.

Maybe you want to read the documentation (http://maxdb.sap.com/documentation) before trying your luck on some productive system!?

Hi Lars,

From your statement showed that this directories won't increase anymore? Issue here is that I'm afraid these 2 directories

will growing and make size 100% used. Is it true that it won't increase to 100%?

Actually I don't know what is actually used of these directories and how it can effect sap or maxdb if it usage is

100% used.

I will refer to your link then to check if I can find some good information there.

Thanks

Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt (aka [FUD|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear,_uncertainty_and_doubt] ), that's what we see here!

Wow! IBM and Microsoft spend some big effort into this marketing scheme to get potential customers to this point.

And you are already in that position on your o

Don't do that to yourself!

Become informed.

Use the documenation (there's LOTS of it!).

Use the SDN WIKI on MaxDB.

Use the MaxDB Homepage.

Use the SAP online documentation.

It's all there.

It doesn't cost a dime.

There is "good" information - you just have to invest that few hours once to read and understand it!

HI Lars,

Thanks for your advice even you are not solving my issue. I know there's a lot of documentation out there

but during this time I couldn't have many times to read and search for it. That's is why I'm post this question in order

to get help from some expert to give some good answer and provide better picture of my question to me.

In this case, no point for me to refer to forum if I just get an answer like yours.

Anyway thanks for your spending time.

Thanks,

Quare

Well, that's good - as long as you're using the forum to lay-off your work to others, then you shouldn't use it.

It's not wanted.

This community tries to help others to better help themselves.

Not to take over work from people that just don't want to take a minimal effort (e.g. to check the documentation) themselves.

You really should have a look at the Rules of Engagement that apply to all SDN forums:
