We moved our CMS database from Oracle 9i to 10g and am getting errors.
First I got an error that said couldn't connect to the cluster but this server isn't in a cluster. I went into the CCM and looked at the CMS configuration and changed it back to the old database and noticed the cluster name changed. I then changed the cluster name to the same name as it was on the old database and restarted the CMS.
It started fine but now when I try to login I get an error that says "Enterprise authentication could not log you on" yet it is the same user name and password used on the old database location.
Any ideas?

Oracle 10g client is on the server.
DBA did the move so to be honest I don't know.

OK, so you just stopped all servers in CCM, went to properties of CMS server and pointed it to a new CMS DB location.
At which point it returned you a different cluster name from the one you had previously . Right ?
This means that a. You connected to a wrong CMS DB. b. Your CMS DB was re-initialized.
Try logging into CMC using Administrator with no password, if you can get in - option B has happend.
Can you still connect to orginal CMS DB and operate properly ?
If so, stop all servers, get info from DBA on new DB, in CCM go to CMS server properties and this time do a COPY data source.
Original Oracle 9 CMS DB will be the source and new Oracle 10 Db will be the destination.
When process is completed, and you pointed CMS server to new CMS DB, you should see your original cluster name.
We are currently running CE10 and using ORACLE 10g client and everything is working fine. We have a need to get off the current production server and 'upgrade' to a newer server (but still running CE10). I am able to test import successfully everything when using SQL Express 2005 for the CMS database and audit database.
When I tried to re-point to Oracle 10g database via the ODBC32 which was successful in connecting to an empty database, but when I tried connecting via the CMS, I'm getting the following error:
Unable to connect to the database using the provided connection string. Reason: The platform requested was not supported (oracle).
Our production is able to connect to Oracle 10g's Audit database, but the CMS was pointed to a SQL2005 database... I was going to take this opportunity to connect the CMS to an Oracle DB instead but it doesn't look like I can??
CE10 has been out of support for over 10 years, so you should really look at upgrading to the latest version of either Crystal Reports Server or BusinessObjects as CE is not compatible with, for example, Windows Server 2012.
Do you have the option to use a "Native Oracle" connection instead of ODBC for the CMS database?

yup, we realize that this is old... we have submitted for approval to upgrade to BI 4.1 and we've already done the research and done some testing.
this is just temporary 'stop-gap' as we need to get off the old server before it 'craps out' on us as we don't know what the timeline is before we get to initiate the upgrade.
we've already tried the native oracle connection and that didn't work either. but just in case we're not doing it properly, is there something we need to install prior to using the native oracle connect for a direct connection?
what's the product version ?
How did you move CMS Db from oracle 9 to Oracle 10 ?
Version of Orcl client on CMS machine ?
