Query/WB-Creation: In test- or prod-system?

Hi experts,

I'd like to get a little feedback if you create and transport your queries and workbooks in the test-system (BWT)

or if you create them direktly in the productive system (BWP).

Maybe a litte bit of background about that question:

We are used to create our queries and workbooks in the BWT system and transport them to the BWP-system till today.

Queries and workbook are build by members of the it-department and used by users from other departments in the BWP-system (after they got transported there).

Now we face the request that users shall be able to build some queries (in their own name-range) on their own (without beeing hassled by the transporting-system). So one of the topics in this context is the question if non-it-members (or even all users) should create queries+wbs in the BWT or BWP system.

So - do you run your BW-system under similar circumstances?

Which of the following solutions do you prefere or did you establish?

a) All queries and workbooks are build in the BWT system - only by it-dep-members.

b) All queries and workbooks are build in the BWT system - by it-dep and other department's members.

c) IT-members build queries and workbooks in the BWT-system while other department's are allowed to built them directly in the BWP system

d) All queries and workbooks are build in the BWP system - by it-dep and other department's members.

Comments, hints and discussion-points are highly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Marco
