Hi
Batch Determination:
Identifying the batch(s) which are already available in the stock during the Inventory management movements or during production order creation or during Delivery against sales order.
Examples:
1. Determination of Batch during Goods Issue against production order
2. Determination of Batches for the components during the production order creation
3. Determination of Batches during the Post Goods Issue against Sales order
We need to maintain master data(Batch Search Strategy) for Automatic Batch determination through the Transaction codes: MBC1, COB1 & VCH1.
Batch Verification:
There are different Verfications are there i am just explaining one specific scenario where batch verification applies
When a new batch is created automatically by the system, a batch number from the number range what we defined in the config. will be assigned to that batch. It is also possible to enter the batch number manually.
When we enter the Batch number manually, the system should check the batch number whether it is with in the number range what we assigned. For this verification we need to use User exit.
Batch Classification:
We can classify the Batches by using the Characteristics assigned in the Batch class.
Example:
For Finished product we can assign customer related information as characteristics and for Semi finished we can assign production related information as characteristics.

Bala

Hi,
Batch Determination
A posting is required for all goods movements in Inventory Management in order to record changes to the quantity and value of stock. You can only use batch determination for goods issues. Below, you will find some business transactions during which a goods issue takes place:
Withdrawal for production/process order
Internal material provision
Return delivery to supplier
Scrapping/sampling
Transfer posting
Batch Classification
Use
You can classify batches. For example, you can use the batch classification functionality to store specific batch data (such as active substance content, weight, or technical data) not contained in the batch master record. Classification of batches is mandatory if you want to use the batch determination feature.
Batch Verification
It is to check the batch no. wht u give at the time of posting. system will checkk it with the no. range u have given.
Thanks !!
