Hi all,

I have a question related to SAP B1 9.2 UDT and UDF.

Actually I can do an add-on of SAP B1 but the question I have now is, is there any option of to export and import UDT and UDF while you want to install your add-on in other company database without creating UDT and UDF from scratch?

Please anyone can help me.

When I create another company, it will ask me to 'Copy user defined Fields and Tables'.

and then I use sql to insert all data from original to new one.

Hi Rurangwa

To copy UDF's and UDT's, you can use Quick copy. Here is the link explaining it in details.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sbo900/helpdata/en/46/47776028970db7e10000000a1553f6/content.htm?frameset=/en/45/ffa2f2a23004aae10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm

,

SAP has a built in tool called 'Quick Copy' for such requirements. To copy the UDTs and UDfs please follow follow steps.

1) Login to company from where data is to be copied.

2) Go to Modules>Administration>System Initialization>Implementation Center>Implementation Tasks > Copy Data between Companies

3) select Copy to File and provide file name to save.

4) Select Error Handling options and press OK.

5) Now select the objects to be copied and select Export.

Easy part done (Copy) now to paste part

Hi Rurangwa,

I don't know if have any tools in SAP 9.2 to export/import udt/udf/udo. But in the 9.1 I believe not, maybe some third party application can do this, but I don't have certain.

On the DI API there are objects to create UDT, UDF and UDO programatically. Then you can run this routine in the first time when your addon run. The object are:

UserTablesMD -> To manipulate UDT

UserFieldsMD -> To manipulate UDF

UserObjectsMD -> To manipulate UDO

All of this object have samples in the REFDI.chm from SDK's instalation folder.

Kind Regards,
