hi,

Can any one explain me the Inspect and Inspected field in Record Results:Characteristic overview screen. How the sample size is determined in Inspected field during lot creation.

Dear Muthamil

This fully depends on the sampling procedure you choose. for eg if you choose 100% sampling procedure and you have lot quantity of 10 items

Then inspect will be 10 and inspected will be 10.

SAP gives the definition for INSPECT as - Predefined sample size that has to be inspected for an inspection characteristic or a partial sample.

For each inspection plan characteristic you define the amount by which the inspected sample size in the 'Insp.ed' field can deviate from the to-be-inspected sample size in the 'Inspect' field. If a characteristic (partial sample ) is closed the system checks whether the required sample size is adhered to. The characteristic (partial sample) can only be closed if this is the case.

But for Scope not fixed, larger , smaller scope the inspected field chages based on the result recording

SAP gives the definition for INSPECTED as - Number of sample units that have been inspected for a characteristic or a partial sample.

Hope this explains

Hi Gahesh,

I agree your statement. Iam not using sampling procedure. Recording is summerized one, Suppose my lot quantity is 10 means what will be sample size in the inspect field.

Hi

There are two ways in which sample size for a lot size is determined.

1.If you are using a Task list then sample size will be based on sampling procedure defined in the task list.

If you do not use the sampling procedure in the task list then sample size will be equal to the lot size. That means 100 % sample size.

2.if you are not using task list then sample size is determined from the inspection type.

If you don not maintain anything here the, sample size is 0.

I hope this will make your concept very clear.

Hi ,

So If we maintain the Result recording control indicator is summerized in Task list (No sampling procedure assigned) means the inspected field will get the value of the lot size. So after we valuate the sample the symbol will be mean(ф) in the result field not equal (=), am i right.

I have one more doubt in SPRO>QM>Basic Settings>Maintain settings at plant level in the result recording tab we have an indicator summerized recording for n=1. what is the use of this. Can any one help me.

Yes this indicator simply means when you are doing summarize result recording we always want sample size as one as it is a summery of results.so we will have only one sample unlike single RR.

I hope you understood

hi,

But in my case for summerized result recording the sample size is showing the lot quantity size, not 1, even i check that the summerized recording for n=1 is ticked in the configuration. I don t know where i mistake. can you please help me.

Dear

This Means that the results recording will always be summarized if n = 1

Means .......if your sample size is 1 then it will be automatically summarize RR ..........that means there will be only one field to enter.

this does not means that sample size will be 1 when you select summarize.

I hope this is the best description.
