We are plannning to implement portal for ESS and MSS.
Looking for the good option to implement ESS and MSS through BSP pages in R/3 4.7 set 1 as a Web Application server or Implementing the Business Packages, ESS and MSS on Portal.
we are are looking for right way to do it any throught.
Thanks.
Parag
Dear Parag,
It depends on the architecture you have installed, if you have only an r3 the way of bsp's is not bad, but if you have a portal too is much more user friendly for the user having everything in one place and with the same look and fell, enter with the same user, that is the idea of the portal (an integration tool).

Damian,
Thanks for sharing your ideas.
To configure ESS and MSS, making both the pieace avialble on the Web through BSP using R/3 4.7, does R/3 performance impacts ? or let Portal handle ESS and MSS function so that load on R/3 as a web application server will be shared by portal only.
which one do you think is more favourable.
Regards
Parag
Dear Parag,
The portal would serve as the frontend only so the burden is saved by the r3 is not significant, It really is a decision of architecture and how to address this and future decisions that save hw in r3.
If you have the resources i would go for the option of portal, which is the newest and pointing to new solutions sap
Regards.
Hi,
it is better to go with portal.
As BSP will effect the performace as every request will go to backend system.
SAP is lot working on abap webdynpros this days.
Thanks
Anil
