CUP 5.3 - custom approver determintors are optional

The guide says CAD is optional but when I try create a stage there is a mandatory field for Approver determinator and the drop down for Approver determinator is not populated and the guide says we can select no stage from the drop down.

Can you please put some light on this.

If the DropDown is empty you have not properly completed all post-installation steps.

Please look into the documentation and upload the initial XML files.

I've imported both the files:

AE_init_append_data.xml

AE_init_clean_and_insert_data.xml

but still the drop down is not populated.

But if CAD is optional then why is it made a mandatory field while creating stage?

I was actuaally checking the Approver determinater dropdown without selecting a workfolw type.

Sorry for the confusion. Now when I select CUP as the workflow type I can see Approver determinator drop down populated.

FYI: CAD are optional.

You're free to pick any of the standard approvers in the stage (Manager, Role Approver etc.)
