regd. Activity release from NWDS/DTR

Hi All,

I am new to NWDI. I have created one Activity and after changes in file check-in and activated. I have checked the functionality in the development server, every thing is working fine as per new changes.

But when i am trying to release this created activity i am getting instruction to release predecessor activities too. But i am not aware of the code changes done on previous activity on the same file.

After check in /Acivate of activity is there need to release the activity from the DTR prespective in Editor. If yes then how to release the current activity with out touching the previous one.

Please help me so i can do the movement of working code in the Quality server.

Hi,

You might have changed some activites or some other person has changed the activity so it will ask you activate all the precedor activites. This should not be any problem .

Second thing to refelect the changes in the qas system you have to configure the runtime system in the CMS. Then when you release the activity then the changes are deployed in the qas automatically.

thanks a lot for reply.

Those previous activites are created by other person and they are not with the project.....:(

Could you pls provide more detail on the release part of the activity from NWDS and CMS.

Hi,

I think you have configured your runtime systems isn't it? If you have configure only the development system then when you release the activity in your NWDS this will get deployed in he development system. When you configure your quality as runtime system then the activity will also be deployed in the qas system.

Hi Deepak,

Yes,you need to release the activity.Goto DC perspective-transport view.right click on the activity and click release.Only then it will be available in CMS for consolidation and assembly before moving into QA system.

Hi Vamshi,

When i have check-in the activity, got the result in development server.

But my doubt is i have one activity, cheked-in and got the changes in the development, but when i am trying to release this activity from NWDS, 4 old activities are coming as predecessor and i am getting btn Release with Predecessors in place of Release btn which i have got for my other activity.

I have few questions:-

1>Is there any way to revert the activtiy after release

2>Can i release my activity with the 4 predecessors activity and can import only my activity in Quality.

3> If i pushed all activity in the Quality and something goes wrong how to revert.
