Hi expert,
I have some confuse, my customer have is a services provider. They provide:
u2022 Air Condition and Ventilation System
u2022 Electrical power Supply / Source & illumination system
u2022 Plumbing, Drainage and sanitary system
u2022 Automatic Control System
u2022 Fire Alarm and fire fighting System
u2022 Clean Room System from class 100.000 to class 100
u2022 Compressed Air System
They go to bid, if success, they use excel files to manage projects.
I implement PS for them. But I don't know how to create Std structure for all projects, because their project is different each other.
I want to ask you, can I create some kind of Std Structures in PS, or just one?
They receive inquiry from Customer (drawing, BOQ-without price,..) then I copy std structure to operative structure, I add some more wbs, activity.... This structure is simple (70-80%). procurement material plan... then make up BOS (cost, price) to bid. If not success, I close project.
if success, I extend this structure to execute. Can I add or delete some wbs after doing any things above?
Plz help me, give some solution for my problem.
Thanks,
Kevin
Your Client is large business Group, having diff. Line of business, as You have mentioend for the most of projects you get drawing based on that you create some operative project and bid. If you win you will execute whole project.
Yes your required can be satisfied with diiff. type of Std. Structures. ( CN01, CJ91 )
You create for each line of business Main Std. Structure and create operative if you will win in bid, you can include Execution nod WBS ( Later on ) . ( For this execution node you can create diff. Std. Elemet a./c to line of Businss )
In PS you can create Project profile(OPSA) , Project type , St.d Network profile (OPS5) suitalbe to your requirment you can use the same. Include Std. WBS , Std. Network funcationality you can explore.
But best person to judge is I believe you, because you know the life cycle of the business, how the wanted to structure project, how business wanted to see the structure report. etc.

Hi,
1) as u said you can keep some basic standard structure ( 60- 70 %) then crete operative project with that, and add WBSE and activities as per requirement. and proceed.
2) as nitin said directly create operative projects and all...
i will suggest...
3) just create simulation project in the system and proceed if you get the order then transfer it to operative n proceed.
