Solution Manager Diagnostics Configuration

Former Member

Hi,

We already have Solution Manager configured in our landscape. I am installing SAP Netweaver 7.0 standalone stack and will install cProjects Suite addon on top of it. The cProject Suite add-on requires the SMD.

Based on the above, I have few questions seen below.

1- How do I know, that Solution Manager diagnostics has been configured, or whether it needs to be configured, in our current SolMan 7.0 environment?

2- Is there a Tcode or a list of steps to find out the above for SMD.

3- How can I identify what are the SMD agents installed (such as .SCA, .SDA files etc)

4- What is the minimum patch level, for SolMan (ABAP + JAVA), required on Solution Manager, for SMD?

5- Can anyone provide OSS notes, help URL, guide links for SAP SMD.

Thanks

1- How do I know, that Solution Manager diagnostics has been configured, or whether it needs to be configured, in our current SolMan 7.0 environment?

Open the URL http://Fullyhostname of solman:5XX00/smd

If you get the application details there like Trance Analysis, change analysis etc then SMD is configured in your solman

or if you get the other messages like upgrader is not executed then SMD is not setup.

3- How can I identify what are the SMD agents installed (such as .SCA, .SDA files etc)

In the OS level you check. in Windows in the SAP MMC you will be able to see a new entry as SMD,

In UNIX based you have to check it in the process level eg ps -ef | grep SMD

4- What is the minimum patch level, for SolMan (ABAP + JAVA), required on Solution Manager, for SMD?

Solman 7.0 SP 10 onwards

Check the note 101048
