Hi Gurus,
Can you please list which of the IM transactions have FI impact and which don't? I need to figure out a way to transact a Semifinished part within the same plant. Was thinking of creating another plant to do the transaction to have FI document created. Is there any other simpler and efficient way to do this?
thanks

Hello,
IM Transactions impact FI when there is a change in valuation. If the stock movement is within a plant, there is no change in valuation and there is no FI document generated (Only Material Documemt will be generated). If it is between plants (at different valuation levels), then there can be FI impact and FI document will be generated.
Thanks,
Venu

When you say "transact a semifinished part", what do you mean?

If you're going to consume the inventory for the purposes of performing a repair, you have options. It depends on how you're recording the expense.
1) Movement type 201 - GI to Cost Center
This will allow you to specify a G/L account and cost center at the time of goods issue.
2) Movement type 261 - GI to Order
If you have an internal order, or perhaps PP order for rework, this will work. It will propose GBB_VBR as the G/L to hit; the system can be configured to make this user-selectable.
Can you provide a little more detail about the posting you'd like to see?
