At what extend we can change Business area .

Business area

Type of field: Required, if business area balances are managed in the company code.

Can be changed? You cannot change the business area if plan/actual values, commitments, or budget exist.

Actually i was checking for particular one wbs in my system.

I have reversed settlement,posting,removed plan and budget,

even though it is grey,

whether it is SAP STD funcionality.

run CJEN and check the WBS

I think the reverse is only creating another document assigned to that WBS

so that should be std SAP functionality

Even if you reverse, you can't change it. It's standard feature.

You can cope this project & change the BA & execute. I think, that's the only option.

Virendra:after running cjen also system is nt allowing to change its grey.

that is what I thought

std functionality as documents exist against the WBS with business area

see previous posting with sap help extract

this means that you cannot change business area if there is any posting on WBS

however you can for new projects

Once you release the project, you can't change it.

It's standard SAP feature.

this is usually driven by FI requirements

we are only holders of this data as master data on PS objects for reporting

basically you can change as you like, but this will affect the previous reports
