Hi experts,
When creating invoice, the field Acct asgnmt grp in invoice can be changed manually. U know, it seems one material can have different Acct asgnmt grps, even Acct asgnmt grp is set in material master.
Q1: Any bad impact on that?
Q2: If let it change, what business is it applied to?

Infact this is for good and for providing flexibility if you want it to post it to different GL at that time. Account assignment group is one of the basic criteria for GL determination.
It can have bad impact if user intentionally changed it for making it bad

There are lots of business where they want to change the GL account for materials based on the criterias. for example you can refer to that one suggested by Venky.
Thanks,

Hi cathy
Account assignemnet gropu is used mainly for two purposes:
1.Determination of revenue accounts to which revenue will be posted
2.Determination of sales deduction account to which discount etc will be posted.
The filed is in change mode in billing so that posting can be done in exceptional cases where determination of GL A/C can not be carried out via access seqence defined.
However changing of the field at the item of billing is to be done with caution so that revenue and corresponding cost(at the time of PGI) should be shown in P&L in syncronization.

Dear
This is one of determination criteria for G.L. A/C. sO If u are changing to desired one no isuue but if u are changing to something else then it will hit some other GL A/C which can create problem.
