Can SAP "standard" reports be accessed from the BOE infoview?

Hello,

We are implementing Business Objects and will be using the Infoview for managing all BOBJ reports.

However, we have a requirement to have a "single point of access" for all reports, some of which are standard SAP GUI reports and others custom ABAP reports.

We are also implementing NWBC with EP and SSO is currently operating from NWBC to BOE... is "reverse" integration possible to meet the requirement of a single report menu whereby SAP transactions can be opened from within BOE inside the NWBC environment?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. Any other suggestions for meeting the requirement would also be great.

Thanks in anticipation,

Eloise

Hi Eloise,

InfoView doesn't generate a SAP SSO ticket so you wouldn't be able to achieve SSO towards the SAP transactions.

Thanks Ingo. So what you're saying is that even though we've already passed a SSO ticked to infoview from NWBC, there is no way for infoview to pass this back to open an ECC report?

Do you perhaps know if SAP is planning on providing this functionality in future given that both NWBC and infoview are on the Netweaver platform?

Hello Eloise,

so you planning to run everything inside the NW Business Client ? then you should be able to access the transaction from the NWBC - or ?

correct on the InfoView assumption. InfoView is not generating a SSO token for you SAP system.

Can't speak for the future plans on that but more than happy to pass this on.

Ingo
