no of activities

Hi, we have 12 activities under each operation. so for main operation work center we assigned 6 parametrs and another 6 activities assigned to sub-operation with a dummy work center? is this process will have problems in future because of dummy work center for sub-operation? is there any other method to handle this? please advise.

    Hi Raju,

As you indicated only 6 fields are assigned to one work centre through standard value key. Only these will have effect on your output.

I feel, the activities which you have assigned to sub operation will have no effect. Hence no need of assign anything to sub operration.

My suggestion is to minimise the activities to 6.

    Wait for other gurus reply.

      > We want to monitor all 12 activities seperately. so we want to capture cost by assigning remaining 6 to dummy work center in sub-operation. is that a legally accepted process?. thank you once again.

      Raju Garu,

Yes. You can use sub-operations, to capture the additional activity costs.

However I would suggest you to have this as a separate operation before the main operation, and have the main operation assigned with the Milestone control key, so that when main operation is confirmed it would default confirm the previous dummy operation with dummy workcenter.

    Hi Raju,

Yes u need to assign extra activities to a dummy workcenter only.

If you have more than six activities u have to assign it to the sub-operation with a dummy work center as in standard SAP only six activities can be assigned to a standard value.

    Hope this is clear.

    Regards

    Suri
