Opendocument is an option as the last poster has shown, also we have integration kits for [websphere|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexi/en/boeXI_PIKinstallIBM_en.pdf] and [sharepoint|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexi/en/boeXI_PIKinstallShrpnt_en.pdf] portals available if you were looking for a bit deeper of an integration.

Hi All,

Thanks for giving reply. Here I am giving few more details about my Requirement.

We have Blue NOg portal which was deployed on Tomcat server and BOXI3.1 also deployed on Tomcat server.

Now we need to have a single sign on for the user.

A user who logged into the Blue nog should see the reports related to him in the BO here in the Portal based on his preveleges.

We used BO portlet in the Blue nog, here it is asking for BO login credentials.

Oue Requirement is: Once a user logged in to the blue nog portal should directly see his BO reports in the Portal page.

Thanks in advance.

So to login to BO automatically (usually termed SSO - single sign on), you would need to identify the user. By default we have a way to do this with Active Directory but for any other LDAP directory you would need to provide the LDAP directory and authentication mechanism (means to identify the users) after which you could sign users on with trusted authentication.

So how do you intend to identify users? Do they SSO into the portal? What type of back end directory (LDAP AD) are you using to authenticate them in the portal?

Thanks in advance for the response.

Tim, i am working on a similar task of calling BO from our portal and we use SSO to authenticate users into our app.

Your thoughts on where i could get information on the same or how the task could be accomplished would be greatly appreciate.

Thanks again.

Best regards,

George.

I have the same kind of requirement for a customization. You can see my post for your problem below. In my solution, from portal I am getting user id and with user id I am creating a EnterpriseSession with TrustedPrincipal. It is easiest way to forward a user to InfoView application from your portal.

Check out if there is a Portal Integration Kit for Weblogic. If yes, u could use the web parts that will be installed as part of the PIK with your Web Logic platform.

There are 3 web parts that come with the Integration Kit for Sharepoint. I am not sure if they have a similar product for Web Logic.
