HI,
I had created a report with sever1(Database is in Server1) and uploading it to BO Server .But the BO Server is in Different Server. I am uploading this Report and trying to run i am getting following error :"Cannot open report document. --- Cannot logon with the custom database information specified in the InfoStore. This is a configuration problem. Please contact your system administrator."
What do i do in BO Server Configuration to run the report?
Is there any access privilage for the BO Server to access the database in Server1?
If yes How to do that?
Regards,
Sathish
Hi,
please go in the CMC, navigate to the report and invoke the Database Configuration panel using the context menu. Make sure that the information displayed in the custom database area is correct. Is the SSO option at the bottom of the screen set? What kind of data source do you fetch your data from?

Stratos

As Stratos said the error is indicating that your "Cannot logon with the custom database information specified" is incorrect
Did you install the middleware on the BO server (SQL oracle, etc) What type of database are you trying to connect to and what version of middleware are you using?

Hi,
I will explain the scenario.
Eg;
1. I created a report with a database which is in Host : 172.19.25.23
2. The Bo Servers default database is in Host : 172.20.25.23
3. I am uploading my report into BO Server and entering the database information of the database which is used for the report.
4. Pressing Preview button: Error
-
There was an error retrieving data from the server: Cannot open report document. --- There is an error with the custom database information specified in the InfoStore. This is a configuration problem. Please contact your system administrator.
5. But the bo server is not able to identify the server which is in another host.
Queries :
1. What changes i had to make in the BO Server to identify the Datasource which is in Remote?
2. If i am adding the remote database details in tnsname file which is residing in BO SERVER installed system?
Thanks For you help,
Sathish
So this is an Oracle DB? Is the BO server 64 bit or 32 bit? What version of the OS do you have? What version of the Oracle client did you install? Can you connect to the DB from the BO server? See this [link for testing instructions|http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/daniel-at-work/checking-connection-to-oracle-database-22609].

Tim
