Asset balance transfer is showing blank in AW01N

Hi,

One user created asset under wrong asset class and one month depreciation was posted of that wrong asset. in the month of september. Now user has created new asset under proper asset class and made balance transfer from wrong asset to newly created asset through ABUMN in month of October i.e, period 7. In ABUMN we have transfered to New Asset field. After successful balance transfer old asset become deactivated and balance has come to new asset but through AW01N I cannot see the balance which is showing blank under planned value, posted values. Even new asset's first acquisition on date and Acquistion Year is showing as blank.

How it can be rectified ?

Anindita

Hi,

Please check the ABUMN document, which posted during transfer.

Check whether the new asset number is appearing on the APC line items and Accum dep line items in the receiving asset's GL account.

Thanks,

Hi Srinivasa,

during balance transfer through ABUMN I used old asset number in Asset Field, Document date, posting date, asset value date and under Transfer to tab I put new asset number in New Asset Field - Mster data - Asset Class - Company Code/Asst Number and made tick on subnumber and simulated finally. Accounting document generated properly. Even through FS10N I can see GL balance also against this asset number. But if I go through AS02 or AS03 or AW01N it is showing as blank. No values are showing. I think I made mistake in ABUMN, instead of putting value under Existing Asset field I wrongly used New asset. As a result I cannot see the date under "First Acquisition on" and ""Acquisition Year". What should I do ? Should I cancel the asset again and create new asset and transfer again or any other procedure . Becasue if First Acquisition on date and Acquisition Year appear in asset master against this new asset, automatically value will in Aw01n.

Hi,

Accounting document which has generated through ABUMN showing perfctly in in GL balances. But if I go through AS03 or AW01n of that newly created asset no values are showing under Planned values and Posted Values and comparison tab is blank. But another asset which has become credit due to balnace transfer now become retired after transfer balances is showing perfectly in AW01N. If you transfr properly First Acquisition on date will appear. If ti not comes your value wiil not appear in Aw01n.

Hi,

Try with your new asset number along with sub number like 1 in AW01N.

Ex: 1234567-1

1234567 is your new asset main number and 1 is sub number to it.

Please make an effort to do all the priliminary checks against the posted document, rather than repeating the same question again.

Thanks,

Hi Srinivasa,

Yes, I have already checked as per your recommended way in AS03 or Aw01N, Put asset number and subnumber mention 1 then it appears properly. But if you put 0 as subnumber regarding this case it will not show value in AW01N just because of in ABUMN I used new asset field and click on sub number. Can you kindly explain when new asset field should use in ABUMN ?

Hi,

See, your asset transfer was performed to an sub asset number.

How you are managing your asset master numbers? Internally/Externally?

If you maintain as external, then only you have to enter the new asset number manually during ABUMN.

You are not supposed to check the check box *Sub Number, until and unless you really want to transfer to an sub asset number.

Hi Srinivasa,

Thanks for your cooperation. In our client Asset number is generated internally under Asset Master. What you suggest in particular this case should I keep this asset as subnumber if it does not make any problme in future or I should discard this asset and create new asset again and trnsfer balance properly through ABUMN ?

Hi,

From the system perspective it does not make any diff, either you can keep main number and sub number.

But from the business perspective, you need to confirm with the business owners.

If they dont agree, just do another ABUMN.

But dont dont select sub number check box at that time.
