Configure TMS in a system

Hi,

In one of our test systems TMS settings got deleted and now I have to configure TMS in the system.

But the problem is that logon to client 000 is not possible as the sap* user is locked. Is there any alternate way of configuring TMS in system or should I get the sap* user unlocked and then go through the normal way.

Hi ,

You need to activate SAP*

To activate SAP* you need change parameter value of set login/no_automatic_user_sapstar . Using OS level change the value it to 1. Then login and enjoy .

SAP* has been restricted and I want to know whether we can configure TMS at the OS level.

Hi Rasheed ,

You cannot configure stms from o.s level if you have any super user rights with that you can login and configure.

Hi,

Use <Drive>/usr/sap/<SID>SYS/profiles/ to change path to change the value and then login with SAP*

Hi Ahmad,

TMS config should be done any one of the admin user only. SAP,DDIC, or any of ur user with super admin rights. But SAP is recommended. First unlock ur super user. u can create the TMS through OS level.

for unlock the SAP * , use this parameter at ur default profile : login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0 (NOT 1).

now u can enter with sap* and with default password.

create your TMS and distribute across your landscae as per your requirements.

CSK.

Thanks a lot guys. Logging in using SAP* in client 000 is the only way out I guess.

Hi Rasheed,

SAP* and DDIC should always be locked down, and configuration activities should not be preformed by these users (see the Security Guides). Create a user in 000 with the proper authorizatoins to configure TMS.

You need to

1) set the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0. ( you can do this in OS level, Default.PFL ),

2) Restart system to get the parameter active

3) login to 000 client with sap* and password will be " pass "

4) go to t-code STMS and do your configurations, or you can create other user and login with new user to configure your TMS

Once you done, Set the above parameter value to 1( one more restart required to get this active )
