Model View Distribution error

I am trying to setup ALE between R/3 and PI and getting the following error:

Model View Distribution error - Target System xxxxxxxx - communication error occurred, name or password is incorrect.

I have performed the following but don't know where the user name and password is incorrect.

R/3 to PI ALE:

- Created Logical System for PI

- Defined RFC destination in R/3 for PI

- Create a Distribution Model

- Generate Partner Profiles

- Attempted to distribute model view and got the error.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have tested the RFC connections that were created for this distribution they tested successfully.

When I click on Test Connection, the connection works fine.

The authorization test failed. I checked the host name, user name: PIAPPLUSER, client and password are correct and not locked in the target system. Not sure why the RFC connection authorization test is failing. I also checked the logical system, port and partner profiles in sending system (R/3) are maintained. I also checked on the PI side, the sending system RFC destination, logical system, sender port have been maintained properly. Please advice.

Thanks.

check for the connection test and authorization test for this RFC. If both the tests are successful then your problem will be reolved.

Sorry about the confusion. I did log out my friend and log in with my ID but somehow it still showed my friends ID. This post is for and by Rajan.

Regarding the user authorizations. I tried to use different ID with all authorizations but still have the same problem.

Thanks to all who tried to help.

I created a new user with all authorizations but still Authorization test fails in RFC connection testing. I can ping the other server/host but cannot cannot connect using RFC connection. RFC connection type is 3 (connection to R/3 system). Not sure if I have to do anything in the target system (PI 7.1). Please advice.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am still having this problem. Test connection is successful but Authorization fails. When I do Authorization Test, I am getting error:

Connection type: R/3 connection

Cancel Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)

I checked, the login / password is correct and the user is not locked, have sap all authorizations. Both the hosts are on different servers and have different IP. What could be the problem for this authorization failure.
