MRP using Alternate UOM

We have maintained Base unit of measure as GAL. GAL does not allow decimal numbers. Hence during MRP it is creating requirements in rounded off value. To get decimal number added an alternative UOM which allows decimal point. I gave this UOM as Unit of Issue and changed BOM with the new UOM where this material is used. However still MRP considers only Base unit of measure and gives me Round off value. Is there any way to overcome this and get decimal numbers.

Thanks for your help.

Why not define GAL - Unit for decimal places in CUNI transaction? Is there a constraint you see?

Since it is Standard SAP for changing this we need several Approvals from higher ups and also I do not know the implications of changing. Can you suggest any other option.

Thanks for working on this issue with me.
