unhandled win32 exception powerbuilder pbvm125.dll

I am receiving a unhandled win32 exception error when launching PB12.5 IDE. My version is 12.5.0.2511 and through the debugging process it seems to point to PBVM125.dll. I was working yesterday and today I am not. Our deployed applications are running without error. This error happens for me and one other developer. We have a 3rd developer that seems to be okay.

I have tried removing all the default layout information from the registry.

Copied the pbvm125.dll that is in our deployed production folder back to my Shared/Powerbuilder folder on my computer.

No luck yet.

Any idea what I should try next? Maybe uninstalling PB and re-installing.

Thanks for your answer. I changed my pb.ini to ReopenWorkspace=0 and it did not help. However we did reinstall PB on one machine and that was able to open the IDE. We were then able to find out that one library that was common to all of our applications had some sort of error. We copied that library from production back to our development and all was well. But I do think I learned that it is a good idea to leave the reopenworkspace = 0 because if you can at least open the PB IDE you can do some more investigating about what is going wrong. So thank you for your answer.

If Powerbuilder opens the last workspace at startup and the workspace is corrup Powerbuilder may crash.

Read here how to open the IDE without workspace:
