Windows 64 bit MMC Install Error

Trying to install MMC (sapmmcX64u.msi) and the snap-in fails to install. Getting an error

"Error getting file security: C:\WINDOWS\system32\icuin34.dll GetLastError: 2" and the install aborts.

The dll exists in the directory and the path seems OK too.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello

There might be privileges problem, assign the administrator privileges to your user-id or execute by the administrator user-id to install the MMC.

Hi John,

Right click on the .msi file and ther if you get an option like "Run as Administrator" choose that and try to install. even if that does not work then check the security perimission of the dll file.

I gues it is windows 2008 server?
