Server certificate is not trusted. Certificate subject name 'XXXX' does not match server name 'XXXX'

Hi Experts,

We have SAP Work Manager 6.3 application deployed to SMP 3.0 on HEC. We could able to perform sync and download the app to Agentry Client. But, suddenly we are encountering error "Server certificate is not trusted. Certificate subject name 'XXXX' does not match server name 'XXXX'".We don't have access to server system and not sure if changes related to certificate has been done.Verified the note 2288228 - that provided two possible approach.

  • Regenerate SMP Certificate - We don't have access
  • For Agentry, update the server name that is being connected to so that it matches the Common Name of SMP 3.0 certificate - Please suggest do we need to change Agentry Application URL(We have access to cockpit, can we get the new App URL from Application deployed to cockpit or do we need to verify Agentry start up log for new URL)

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Swathi.

    Swathi,

My assumption here is based on the type of Agentry client (iOS, Android or WPF). Something may have occurred on the client to make the certificate to not match or if the HEC environment upgraded or reinstalled a new server and the certificate did not match.

One approach that you should assume is that if the backend changed, then the client may need to resync the certs. The assumption here is that if the certs on the device is old, then some clearing of the client and/or uninstalling the client and reinstalling a new client version that matches the server could be one approach.

This is the suggestion for now.

    Regards,

    Mark
