At present we only have 30 days of history being displayed within the Account overview views whereas we would like to see/display more. Is this possible?.

As far as I know -> this is customizing.

Have a look at:

Specify Display Options for Business Transactions

In this activity you establish for which period the business transactions in applications such as Accounts and Contacts should be displayed.

You can create settings for the following:

u2022 Interaction History

u2022 Activities

u2022 Opportunities

u2022 Quotations

u2022 Sales Agreements

u2022 Sales Orders

u2022 Leads

In this way you can display the business transactions within different periods, for example, all activities for the previous or the following week.

In the case of the interaction history, the period refers to the posting date, in the case of activities to the start and end date, and in the case of opportunities to the start and closing date.

You can make the settings in such a way that they are specific to certain business roles, or valid across different roles. They are always valid for all applications (for example, Accounts and Contacts).

Activities

1. Choose New Entries and use the input help to enter the necessary data for the area and period.

2. Save the data.

Note

If you select Last month as the period, all the business transactions from the last calendar month are displayed, and not the transactions of the last month from the current date.

This means that if you have selected Last month as the period, and display the transactions in the system in the month of May, the transactions from the month of April are shown

Many thanks for that Dirk.

We would like to show all history for the past two years (everything is archived after that) and was thinking of using the the Wn option. In the example/help it mentions W2 to indicate -14 days and was wondering whether I could use W104 to indicate two years (52x2) as the example seems to indicate that the '2' in 'W2' equates to 14 days so I assume it means two weeks (14 days). Does that seem logical, or do you think that is just too easy a solution?.

Hi Jason,

Are we talking about the SAP CRM WebUI???

If yes ->

Please check the "Interaction history" assignment block...

(This "possibility" is missing in your last post / but might be a good solution for your request)

How we use this-

In our CRM -> the relevant Activities are displayed in the "Open Activities" Assignment block.

After 2 Month (or Status of Activity = Close) -> they are automatically transferred to the Interaction History Assignment Block.

After 2 Years they are deleted from System. (Like in your scenario - this is done by our "basis team")

Check if this scenario will match your needs.

If yes - you do not need a 2 year period in customicing.

There are also some performance benefits -> if you use this solution. (If you close the Interaction History AB)

Dirk,

Yes, it is the WebIC that I am refering to. At present we can only see 30 days of history in the Account Overview of the WebIC, which displays IR's and Service tickets etc against the Business partner. The original request was to no longer show just 30 days because sometimes a business partner may interact many times across a period of time greater than 30 days. The business therefore wanted to see ALL history, but as I don't think this is possible we may have to set it to two years instead, but know this might not be efficient.. Ideally what I wanted to do is to be able to make a quick config change and have it working, but I'm struggerling to understand how your new suggestion might work without code changes, although it sounds like a more efficient solution. You should bear in mind that I'm from a technical background and am slowly moving across to config/functional role, but as you can see I'm still a long way from it.

Best regards

Jason,

I have no experience with the WebIC. (And I can not test it somewhere / no System)

Anyway. If you have the customicing possibilities mentioned in my first answer -> test, if they effect the timerange in your Account Overview.

IF YES -> Afterwards look for a similar thing like the "Interaction history" (I described in my second answer)

In my opinion there should be something similar to what we have in Webui.

IF NO -> Sorry... You have to ask someone else...

Dirk, Sorry, I know you've been very helpful but I have one more thing to ask.

In one of your replies you mentioned the following:

In this activity you establish for which period the business transactions in applications such as Accounts and Contacts should be displayed.

You can create settings for the following:

u2022 Interaction History

u2022 Activities

u2022 Opportunities

u2022 Quotations

u2022 Sales Agreements

u2022 Sales Orders

u2022 Leads

In this way you can display the business transactions within different periods, for example, all activities for the previous or the following week.

In the case of the interaction history, the period refers to the posting date, in the case of activities to the start and end date, and in the case of opportunities to the start and closing date.

However, if my client wanted to show 'Case' information/history as well as the business transanctions or transaction types (I'm not 100% sure what they should be called) like Sales agreements, would you know how this can be achieved?.
