Hi
I need to install Process Control 3. i would like to know if i need to install ABAP and JAVA as add on or install JAVA as central system?
Thanks
Sigal
The process control3.0 installation is at two levels : PC3.0 core components & PC3.0 Portal Business packages.
1) PC3.0 Core component installation is on SAP NW ABAP 7.01 EHP1 SP03 or above
2) SAP Portal is the new UI and available on the JAVA stack. The PC3.0 Portal Business Packages need to be deployed here.
3) PC RTA to be installed in the ERP system (optional : based on use of automated monitoring)
You can have it as ABAP+JAVA stack or have them separately stacks as per your organization policy.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Rohit

Hi,
are you asking if a single or dual stack (add-in) installation is "better"?
There are two main disadvantages when using a dual stack Java/ABAP system:
-UME needs to be connected to ABAP (can cause some issues)
-sizing only "symmetrical" (e.g. cannot add just one Java instance)
Advantage is you do not have to change/synchronize passwords on both systems...
Cheers,
Dominic
