Mandatory field for Material Group 1- MVKE-MVGR1 (Field Selection Group 54)

Dear Guru's,

I want to make the Material Group 1- MVKE-MVGR1 (Field Selection Group 54) field in the Material Master as a mandatory field. The problem is, when I make it mandatory (be it via the Material Type or the Transaction code e.g. MM01) in Tcode OMS9, not only is Material Group 1 made mandatory, Material Group 2, 3, 4 and 5 is also made mandatory. I just want to make the Material Group 1 field as mandatory but the other fields such Material Group 2,3,4 and 5 optional (not mandatory).

How can I do this ? If anybody can give me some step by step instruction, I will really appreciate it.

Go to SPRO-Log General-Material master- Field Selectio- Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups. Here go to field MVGR1, change the Sel group to any number greater than 211-240. Now click on the icon next to it. Now only for field MVGR1 you can select the relevant field reference for which you want to make it mandatory.

Hi,

This is because all material group 1,2,3,4 & 5 are under same filed selection group.

For material group 1, make seperate filed selection group and then do the settings in OMS9.

Goto SPRO > Logistics general >Field selection >Assign field to field selection groups > here you can find all the all material group 1,2,3,4 & 5 are under filed selection group 206.

U mean to say...When ever creating Material via MM01...in basic data screen u want to make Material Group filed should be mandatory.

whether u want to allow certain material groups for Material Via Material type...

for example Material Groups:1000

out of these u want to allow 100 material groups to Material type.

Either u want to make certain Material Group for certain Material as mandatory

Hi,

Making a field mandatory will be depend upon many factors like indutry sector, material type etc.

please check the path sprologistics generalmaterial master-- fied selection groups and find the field selectio group for this field and make the field mandatory for your criteria and check.
